Hey! My name is Tim Spisar and I’m the owner of Cinelate. Firstly, thank you for checking out my website.

I’m all about capturing memories and creating meaningful content. I believe we are all striving for unforgettable experiences with memories that live forever. Think back to one of your favourite memories. Do you remember all the details? Now imagine you had a video that allowed you to relive it. The stories, feelings, and nostalgia that follow these kinds of experiences are ones that should last a lifetime. I believe we all crave these experiences and my goal is to showcase that. This is the type of meaningful content I guarantee to deliver.

  • It took me a masters degree in University to realize what I was truly passionate about. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with my masters degree. It was in cameras that my true Dharma lay. I started my filmmaking & photography journey in 2017 and haven’t looked back since. I think the most important aspect any professional can have is passion and I am full of it. I bring that to my career every day and is something I carry through all projects I’m involved in. Oh and I LOVE to travel. Please hire me for travel projects.

  • During the pandemic when spirits were highest, I took all my free time and dedicated it towards creating Cinelate. “Cine” stands for cinematography and “Elate” means to make someone ecstatically happy which I strive to do not only professionally with my finished products, but also in life in general. I think we all can spread a little more happiness. Using videography and photography, I love to tell stories and capture emotions. I believe meaningful content can bring a person into the screen and truly feel like they are in a particular moment. This is so important for reliving important moments (such as a wedding) or portraying an emotion to clients, consumers, and communities which can help increase sales, and spread the true meaning behind your product/services.

  • My goal with Cinelate involves two main objectives: (1) love what I do, and (2) make a positive difference along the way. I absolutely love using cameras to create meaningful content for others. It’s so fun and fulfilling for me and has brought me to so many amazing spots around the world. The second part is something I’m continually trying to achieve. I have had so many amazing client responses that tell me I’m influencing people and companies in a positive way. On top of that, every year I create a free film for a charity, organization, or cause that is helping make this world a better place.

  • -Before I get into my backstory, I’ll tell you a couple things about myself. I LOVE to travel. I think we are so blessed to be on this beautiful planet and getting to see it’s vast landscapes, amazing cultures, all the nature, and everything else the earth has to offer is by far my favourite thing to do. I also love playing video games, sports, sitting by the water, and of course anything to do with cameras.

-I was born and raised in the Toronto area (Brampton to be exact). Growing up, I loved video games and sports and wanted to turn that into a career for my future. I completed a Masters in Kinesiology at Brock University and had the plan to either become a sports-related doctor (physio/chiro, etc.) or a Physical Education teacher. I felt good about pursuing either one of those paths, but I wasn’t truly passionate about them. I started working for Niagara Sport and Social in the Niagara Region. They made me a Manager and recently hired me on full-time. I love what I do there and am continuing to grow with them.

-The summer before they hired me, I bought a GoPro Hero 6. This was my first camera ever. Growing up, I wasn’t much of a creative kid. I had a stage where I loved to draw, but never fell in love with cameras or anything super creative (even though my mom was a photographer, I never got into it myself). After High School, I started to watch a lot of YouTube and fell in love with travel vloggers. Creators like Casey Neistat, Roman Atwood, and eventually Peter McKninnon became my idols. I fell in love with their lifestyles and started to love the idea of owning my own camera. That’s when I picked up my GoPro. I started to film everything. My first videos were awful but I absolutely loved it. I became so passionate about filmmaking and photography that I had to buy a real camera. I bought a Panasonic GH5 and started to create more professional content. I started a little for-fun company called STIC Visuals and started to make a little bit of money. I landed a few awesome gigs such as making promo videos for Brock University Youth Camps, Mahtay Café, and 50 Point Market, and got to film a bunch of weddings. The more I learnt and experienced, the more I fell in love with the idea of making this my full-time job. Fast forward a couple of years and here we are. This is where Cinelate comes in.

In-Depth Descriptions

  • -With all of the knowledge and experience I gained, I wanted to take the next step into making my work more professional and creating a business that I could pursue my goal of becoming a full-time filmmaker and photographer with. I spent every day for months jotting down ideas, drawing sketches of possible logos, and gaining the knowledge I needed to start my business. I eventually came up with the name Cinelate. “Cine” is short for Cinematography which encompasses the video (and photo) side of me. “Elate” means to “make (someone) ecstatically happy” which is something I strive to do regularly in both my professional and personal life (I even have “Smile More” tattooed on my arm). I wanted the name to be short and concise, yet represent who I am and what I do. This name was perfect for me and I love it!

-After spending years learning and making thousands of videos (both for fun and professionally) I am 100% confident that I have the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue this professional dream of mine. I am confident that I can produce high quality photos and videos for almost all needs. Instead of spending my time perfecting one niche, I spent my time learning the in’s and out’s of the camera and all aspects around it. This has allowed me to excel in all aspects of photography and videography and allows me to branch out into multiple sectors. I am now able to produce high quality wedding, real estate, marketing, travelling, and branded content for both photography and videography.

-Eventually, I want to be able to run Cinelate as my full-time job. With your support and my work ethic, I am confident I will one day be able to do this. As I continue to grow, I hope to one day have the opportunity to bring other creators on this journey with me and further grow Cinelate into a multi-dimensional company that caters to the creative needs of businesses, organizations, and individuals around the world.

  • If you made it this far, please know that you are amazing. It’s the support of friends, family, and clients (past, present, and future) that will help me continue to grow Cinelate and pursue my passion. It would mean the world to me if you could click on the little social icons at the bottom of this page and follow/subscribe to my social media platforms. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or simply just to talk.
